Course aim and objective
The aim and objectives of the Rigger/Banksman and Slinger competence assessment are to establish that the learner has the required underpinning knowledge, understanding and practical skills to fulfil the role of Rigger and Banksman and Slinger safely and effectively.
Course contents
Rigger training covers the following topics:

UNIT 1 – Prepare, Lift and Move Loads
  • Preparation for lifting and moving of loads
  • Lifting, moving, lowering and landing of a load

UNIT 1 – Prepare, Lift and Move Loads (Practical)
Exercise 1 Lift Plan 1 Lifting Box (free access - floor 1)
Exercise 2 Lift Plan 2 T-Shape Pipe (free access - floor 1)
Exercise 3 Lift Plan 3 Straight Pipe (through obstacle – floor 1 and 2)
Exercise 4 Lift Plan 4 Valve (through obstacle – floor 1 and 2)

Banksman and Slinger training covers the following topics:
UNIT 1 – Direct and Control the Movement and Placing of Loads (Theory)
UNIT 1 – Direct and Control the Movement and Placing of Loads (Practical)
UNIT 2 – Prepare and Sling Loads (Theory)
UNIT 2 – Prepare and Sling Loads (Practical)

Practical exercises
  • Exercise 1 Lift Plan simple pre-slung lift – Electrical Motor
  • Exercise 2 Lift Plan Restricted access lift – Lifting of Container 20 Ft
  • Exercise 3 Lift Plan Restricted access lift – Bundle of steel
  • Exercise 4 Lift Plan Load with offset center of gravity - T-s
  • Exercise 5 Lift Plan Blind lift – Scaffold tubes and boards
Duration of the training course
The duration of Rigger/Banksman and Slinger Competence Assessment Module is 2 days.
Price – 600 EUR per person.
Certificate validity
Certificate is valid 2 years.
Delegate prerequisites
  • Trainees wishing to enter this course should be medically fit and capable of fully participating;
  • A valid Rigger/Banksman and Slinger Initial Training Certificate.
Target group
The target group for the Rigger competence assessment is personnel who wish to become an certified competent rigger.
Course limitations:
  • The maximum number of learners for the Rigger/Banksman and Slinger Competence Assessment training programme is 12;
  • There is a minimum of 3 participants to constitute team, when undertaking practical exercises.
