Description of the course
Target group
This training course primary is intended for existing seafarers who are responsible for using Automatic External Defibrillator on board ship.
Objectives of the course
On completion of the course the trainee should be able to demonstrate sufficient understanding and knowledge of the general danger involved in shipboard operations, understand the role of first medical aid, ABC alghoritm, understand how working principles Automatic External Defibrillator, understand the difference between ABC with/without Automatic External Defibrillator, train ABC in group, carry out risk assessment procedures. The trainees will gain experience of working with Automatic External Defibrillator during the practical excersises.
Course contentsThe Training course covers the following topics:- Introduction to health and safety legistations;
- Introduction to ABC algoritm;
- Introduction to Automatic External Defibrillator;
- Way of working for Automatic External Defibrillator;
- Creating a safety culture through teamwork;
- Case studies;
- Assesment and Discussion.
Duration of the training course
The duration of the Automatic External Defibrillator training course is 6 hours.

Income requirements
To be assigned on Automatic External Defibrillator training course, participant should present national passport.
Training approaches and equipment:
During training course theoretical lessons are given using PowerPoint presentations and video, for practical exercises participants are placed into groups working with training Automatic External Defibrillator.
Course limitations:
Maximum number of course participants – 24 persons.
