Practical Assessment
- Direct and Control the Movement and Placing of Loads (Theory Assessment);
- Prepare and Sling Loads (Theory Assessment);
- Direct and Control the Movement and Placing of Loads (Banksman’s role ) (Practical Assessment);
- Prepare and Sling Loads (Slinger’s role) (Practical Assessment).
Practical Assessment
- Exercise 1 Lift Plan A simple pre-slung lift – Steel Box;
- Exercise 2 Lift Plan Restricted access lift – Bundled tubular;
- Exercise 3 Lift Plan Restricted access lift – Lifting of Container 20 Ft with;
- Exercise 4 Lift Plan A lift in which the load has an offset centre of gravity;
- Exercise 5 Lift Plan blind lift Scaffold tubes and boards.

The maximum number of learners attending the practical assessment is 6.

Learners must possess:
Learners must possess a valid OPITO-approved Banksman and Slinger Competence or Banksman and Slinger Competence Reassessment Certificate.
Note 1: Learners who possess an OPITO Banksman and Slinger Assessment or Re-Assessment Certificate which has expired by more than 6 months will be required to attend the OPITO Banksman and Slinger Initial Training prior to undertaking the Banksman and Slinger Competence Assessment. In these instances, there will be no requirement to complete a Work Experience Logbook.
Medical entry requirements
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Product may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be capable of participating fully.
