Description of the course
Target group
This course is designed for beginners and intermediate welders who want to develop or enhance their
skills in Oxy-Acetylene Welding (OAW).
Objectives of the course- To provide a comprehensive understanding of OAW welding principles and practices;
- To develop practical welding skills using manual metal arc techniques;
- To ensure participants can safely operate OAW equipment and handle materials;
- Proper use of PPE.

Course contents- Introduction to the OAW process and its various applications;
- Identifying and mitigating risks associated with OAW;
- Understanding the combustion process in OAW;
- Detailed study of equipment used in OAW and how to set it up;
- Techniques for controlling gas flow and adjusting the welding flame;
- Practical welding techniques and best practices;
- Methods for cutting metals using OAW;
- Understanding different metals and selecting appropriate materials for welding;
- Identifying common welding defects and how to ensure weld quality;
- Techniques for soldering using OAW;
- Hands-on practice in creating or repairing a piece using OAW;
- Proper maintenance and troubleshooting of OAW equipment.

- Practical Workshops: Supervised hands-on practice to apply learned skills;
- Modern Welding Equipment:
– UCT-500 COMBINATION TORCH MASTER KIT FOR GAS
– WELDING/CUTTING (UNITOR)
– The UCT-500 Master kit has been assembled to cover all ordinary Acetylene / Oxygen welding, brazing and cutting work that may occur:
○ Welding; ○ Heating; ○ Gouging; ○ Flame cleaning; ○ Soldering; ○ Cutting; ○ Rivet burning; ○ Flame straightening- Safety Gear: Provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) for all participants.
