on Board Ships

Description of the course
Target group
Program is designed for ship’s catering personnel, whose responsibilities include food preparation, serving and storage, including stock control.
Objectives of the course
Those who successfully complete this course should be able to store food properly and observe good personal hygiene providing catering services on board.
Course contents
The Training course covers the following topics:
  • International regulations;
  • Hygienic requirements for household systems;
  • Infectious diseases;
  • Ships sanitary epidemiologic environment;
  • Specific requirements for passenger ships;
  • WHO analysis of infectious disease outbreaks worldwide and on ships;
  • Hygienic requirements on board ships;
  • Food safety;
  • Foodborne disease;
  • Risk factors for food contamination. Analysis and control;
  • Requirements for staff that directly interacts with food.

The duration of the Training Course is 1 working day.

The price is 150 EUR.
Certificate validity
Unlimited.
Income requirements
To be assigned on Hygiene requirements on board ships Training Course the participant should present national passport and Basic Safety Training Certificate.
Approval
The course complies with all requirements of the Maritime Labour Convention Reg. 3.2.




The course is certified by Latvian Maritime Administration.

Training approaches and equipment:
  • During training course theoretical lessons are given using PowerPoint presentations.
  • Remote courses are passed by means of Webinars on Zoom platform, publication access on Google Drive.
Course limitations:
Online course is conducted for groups of 16 participants.
