Description of the course
Target group
This training course is intended for personnel who are required to use portable gas detection equipment to determine the presence of potentially harmful atmospheres in the workplace and for personnel who are tasked with maintenance and calibration of the devices.
Objectives of the course
A trainee successfully completing this course will be able to:
  • Use gas measuring instruments correctly;
  • Use the readings to evaluate and control the condition of the atmosphere in a tank;
  • Provide routine care, service, maintenance and calibration of gas detection devices.
Course contents
The Gas Analyzers / Detectors Calibration and Use training course covers the following topics:
  • Procedures for atmosphere testing;
  • Gas measuring instruments;
  • Oxygen analyzer;
  • Tankscope;
  • Explosimeter;
  • Interferometer;
  • Multigas detectors / Personal gas detectors;
  • Chemical absorption tubes for toxic gases (Draeger Tubes);
  • Operating principles, accuracy and limitations;
  • Sampling lines and pumps;
  • Instrument check procedures, maintenance and calibration.
Duration of the training course
The duration of the Gas Analyzers / Detectors Calibration and Use training course is 1 working day (8 hours).

Certificate validity is unlimited.
Income requirements
To be assigned on Gas Analyzers / Detectors Calibration and Use training course, participant should present:
  • Valid identity document (passport/ID card);
  • Seamen’s book.
