Work Experience:
Since 2021, Valerijs Gaponenko has been working as an instructor at Novikontas Training Centre. Drawing on his decades of command experience, he focuses on developing students’ understanding of real onboard processes rather than abstract procedures.
Teaching Experience:
- Transport LPG, chemicals, and oil products (CPP) by sea as chief officer and master of different sizes and types of tankers.
Research and Publications:
Valerijs Gaponenko – Master / Captain Mariner
Valerijs Gaponenko is a maritime instructor and former captain with a long-standing career spanning multiple decades at sea, including extensive experience on gas carriers. Starting as a junior officer in the late 1970s, he advanced to the rank of captain.
