educational process
20% theory
Nowadays the marine sphere has undergone drastic change. Therefore, in order to prepare competitive seafarers for the global job market, Novikontas Maritime College has developed a special approach to the educational process. The process is organized not like at school, but as close to the real-life conditions as possible, so that the students can get acquainted with the work of a seafarer from the very first days.

Training takes place on board the Varma ship or in specialized classrooms with all necessary equipment to immediately consolidate theoretical knowledge in practice. Furthermore, the majority of practical tasks are performed on professional and diverse simulators, which allow students to acquire the necessary skills and prepare them for various situations at sea.

Study Language
English is the official language of the maritime sphere, that's why all classes at Novikontas Maritime College are held in English. In such a way students are prepared for their working environment, memorize necessary terms in English and can freely and easily communicate with their colleagues.

When enrolling into the programs "Maritime Transport" or "Marine Engineer", student's English language proficiency is also assessed. If a student is not confident in his language skills, the college offers special English language preparation courses that can be arranged with the instructors.
